People Say the Nicest Things

Like most people, we value feedback. We don't like to mess up, so it's good to know when we're on a collision course with the banana peel on the sidewalk. No, we like to be on the side of angels all the time... generally in the first instance if at all possible, but always in the end.

But it's only recently that we've started encouraging people to say nice things about us. On purpose. In public.

We didn't go about this in some bizarre and complicated way. We just asked people to write a short review of us - good or bad - on Amazon, Epinions, Bizrate, Yelp... whatever they felt most comfortable with. Preferably somewhere they were already registered, so they wouldn't have to jump through hoops to do it. Pretty simple request, really. It went up on one or two of our site's pages, and in an email. We figured maybe a couple of people would do it, and that would be nice.

As of today, we have 76 reviews on Amazon alone, where SquareTrade is rated a 5-Star service (as opposed to our competition, which gets a whole 2 Stars).  Naturally, the one at the top of the page is the ONLY 1-Star review, but the rest pretty much gave us top marks. People are calling us the best warranty they've had in their entire lives, the best customer service they've experienced in years, and a few are claiming our Care Plans are now mandatory buys for every electronic device they get.

And about the guy who slammed us? We're working on new ways and new products to avoid a repeat of that situation in future.
