Cheap Sanyo Plasma 50" Television for under $1000.

They said it couldn't be done. They said we were mad. Mad! No, we were geniuses.

We told you earlier this week that you'd be seeing 42-50" HDTVs for under $1000 this Holiday season, and now Wal-Mart has jumped the gun on us. For tomorrow's first pre-Black Friday sale, in addition to that $348 Acer laptop, Wal-Mart is selling a 50" Plasma Sanyo HDTV for $998. That's about 2/3rds its normal asking price.

Now, in all fairness, this isn't a top-of-the-line set. It's only 720p (check its full stats here), but it does have picture-in-picture functions that a lot of other widescreen televisions don't (we're looking at you, Aquos). And if you get one at that low-low price, you'll be able to get a SquareTrade HDTV warranty for a correspondingly low-low price... or even lower, if you take advantage of our 20% off sale.

But wait! It won't be on sale until tomorrow morning at 8:00. That gives you plenty of time to buff up and plan your attack. Hope you like the smell of napalm in the morning.
