Who said every response to the Apple iPhone had to be a pretty one? Take the new Samsung iphone contender, the SPH-M4650, the newest in their Anycall mobile phone line and the first with a touch screen. It's not the ugliest thing we've ever seen, but that digital clock on the top right takes us right back to 1978. We half expect it to come pre-loaded with "Crocodile Rock."
Ah, but the one-upmanship doesn't stop there. Samsung's touch screen boasts a haptic feedback system, meaning you'll feel a buzz when you tap the icons. That kind of response could give the Samsung iPhone doppelganger a more tactile feel than the original.
It'll also come with Word Mobile 6 (which seems to discount rumors that it'll serve as a Google Phone), a 2.8" display, and a genuinely fast Marvel 624MHz PXA300 CPU. No worries about download or playback speeds there. Not so nice? The SPH-M4650 is projected to have a 50,000 Won price tag. That's $550 to you and me. Definitely a prime candidate for an excellent warranty with Accidental Damage Protection.
