We just caught site of a little something running on KVUE-TV in Austin, Texas. Olga Campos did a piece on post-holiday extended warranties in Monday's ConsumerVue segment for KVUE News.
Now, it has to be said that Olga didn't exactly research the price points between Best Buy (around 24% of item price) and us (12%), or go into their reputation among customers (meh) versus ours (yay!), but she did interview a nice lady named Shari Heino who had a SquareTrade cell phone warranty when her smart phone conked out, and she was pleased to tell Olga about the whole thing;
"I was so glad. I got exactly the same thing," said Shari Heino of the extended warranty that paid off for her. She bought a policy from Square Trade, an on-line company. It covered the cost of replacing the cell phone Heino bought on E-bay recently.
"They said, 'No problem. Just send it in.' They e-mailed me a sheet that I could print out so I just stuck it on the package sent the phone in and they just reimbursed me my money back to my PayPal account," said Heino.
Thanks for the kind words, Shari. And while we're here: Texans, back us up. We know you guys don't really spell "online," "email" and "eBay" with dashes.
