Okay, so they totally missed out on that whole HDTV Super Bowl sale thing, but Best Buy has finally remembered that people like to pay less money for cool things. They've chopped a decent chunk of change - $150 and $200, respectively - off all their Dell Inspiron T5450 and Sony Vaio VGN-CR320E/W laptops.
Oh, but how to choose which one is right for you? Let's see: they're both 14.1" monitors with equal resolution, a 250GB serial ATA hard drives and 2GB of DDR2 memory, both expandable to 4GB. Both run off Intel Core 2 Duo mobile processors... aha! The Vaio's is a T7250 with 2.0 GHz processing speed, while the Dell's is a T5450 at 1.66 GHz. And the Dell has a 2.0 megapixel webcam to the Vaio's 1.3 megapixels! Now the truth will out, friends! The sale prices might affect your judgment, too... the Dell's $850, the Vaio's $1100, and probably built a little better, too.
They've also gotten all iPod Nano on us with the color selection. Dells come in Midnight Blue, Spring Green, Espresso Brown, Apine White, and Ruby Red. The Vaio, however, is just plain classier for having Indigo, Dove, Crocodile, and Sangria.
But whichever laptop you pick and whatever color you go with, you'll definitely want to skip Best Buy's warranty, which is just a hair shy of twice the price of a SquareTrade laptop extended warranty. Best Buy's service provider is also rated at two stars at Amazon, whereas we're the top rated warranty around. Accidental Damage coverage is available, too.
Final thoughts: we're just a little miffed that the Flamingo Pink Inspiron is sold out online, but thankfully the Cosmopolitan Vaio ("cosmopolitan" = "pink") is still available. That just might be the deciding factor.
