Now that PMA's in the review mirror, it's time to look ahead to Barcelona... ah, Barcelona, and your GSMA Mobile World Congress. Which means lots of cell phone news and gossip and news in the lead-up.
Today's starts with the LG KF510, a new slider that steps away from the Voyager and says it's okay not to have a touch screen, so long as it looks like you do. There aren't a lot of details yet, but we do know it's going to be a supermodel-thin handset at 10.9mm thick and will sport a 3-megapixel camera. It's also going to have LG's "advanced touch technology," which likely translates to the Voyager's haptic feedback feature on those faceplate navigation controls (we see texturing on the number keypad, so those buttons are probably actual buttons). And we might be wrong, but that looks suspiciously like a map on the left-hand phone. GPS, perhaps?
At this point, you know a SquareTrade cell phone warranty costs much, much less than cell phone insurance and nets you a cash return instead of a refurbished phone on an approved claim, right? Good. We won't mention it, then.
We'll doubtlessly learn more next week when the Congress is in session, but you can expect the LG KF510 to reach stores next month.
