SquareTrade Celebrates iPad Launch with Apple Fans

Just as it did with the iPhone, Apple has created quite a buzz with the launch of its iPad. The company announced it sold over 300,000 iPads over its weekend launch. Here in San Francisco, the lines stretched out in front of Apple's flagship store, with some arriving as early as 11pm the night before.

Gadget lovers from across the Bay Area and globe gathered in anticipation! A couple of SquareTraders hit the streets to join the fun. It was great seeing so many familiar faces and making friends with Apple fans ...including some who traveled as far away as Brazil and the UK!

A special shout out to all who tweeted and tracked down SquareNaomi to say hello -- I loved seeing so many SquareTrade fans out and about! Hopefully you enjoyed the iPhone skins and other goodies we were handing out.

Excited about the release of the Apple iPad? We are too! A group of SquareTraders and I will be headed to the Apple Store at Union Square early Saturday morning in anticipation. If you're in San Francisco, you should stop by and say hello! We won't be the first ones in line though. That's this guy...

Meet Greg Packer. He's the first in line at New York's Fifth Avenue Apple Store. If you watched the news coverage for the original iPhone launch, he should look pretty familiar to you...

Then: Greg began camping 5am on June 25th, 2007. 110 hours before iPhone Launch...

Now: Back in front of Apple's flagship store, 2 days before iPad Launch. Greg is determined to be first again!

Back in 2007, Greg was willing to camp in line for nearly 110 hours before the iPhone launch. He was rewarded by being the first to get his hands on a First Generation iPhone from the Fifth Avenue store. And now this retired highway maintenance worker is back!

Can't help but love this guy: While Gregory F. Packer may be bit more of a professional queuer than Apple fan, it's hard not to give this guy a thumbs up for dedication. After all, his strategy has given him to meet the likes of mariah Carey, Garth Brooks, Dennis Rodman, and Ringo Starr... not to mention at least three U.S. presidents! And...he clearly still loves his first generation iPhone.
